Ready for Her Close-Up

Well...actually, she wasn't.  Little Miss Fiona was so excited she could hardly contain herself!  She would look at me, all perky and interested, and then as soon as that camera came out, she'd go flitting off...it was hilarious.  But how could you possibly resist this dog?  Check it out...

Not Leavin'

This is JM's current phrase..."Not leavin.'  Nope, not leavin'."  He says it when he is either refusing to go anywhere (apropos of his two-year-old self) or when cataloging who is going to be staying or going in any group of people.  He's like his mama...would just as soon have everybody just live here, thank you very much.  

Which brings me (in a very roundabout way) to this set of photos...though Bryan and I often toy with the idea of moving (especially as gas prices climb and school gets no closer to our home) it is photos like these that inspire me to stay put.  An impromptu get-together (clothes and all) in our backyard pool with our next-door-neighbor where eventually, the clothes were shed and swimming diapers were donned (but I thought this was pretty fun just like this).

Inspired by a few friends on Flickr, I have begun a "grateful series"...mainly to remind myself of all the reasons I have to be thankful.  There are many, and I wish I didn't have to be reminded, but there you go.  Maybe I should do a set on being grateful for the blog that can remind me to be grateful...

Fast Friends

I think there was a bit of trepidation at first on the part of Miss L and her big brother, S.  Go off with this woman and that monster of a camera?  Maybe not. Well, it was nothing that the suggestion of a barn couldn't cure.  There were the chickens, the (giant) tractor, the ladder, stacks of hay...you got it.  We did just fine.

And take a look at these two.  Gorgeous from the get-go.  Little L and those curls and the eyes on S!  Wow.  He informed me he was too young to have a girlfriend, but clearly he'll be a heartbreaker.  Sister loves him, that's for sure.

Something in the Water

Or at least...it's beginning to seem like it!  Another newborn boy, this one just as sweet as the last.  Slept, let me scrunch him around, and barely peeped about any of it!  And let me just tell you, this baby is a lucky one.  He may not know it yet, but he has two of the sweetest, most caring, most likable parents on the face of the earth.  And they are totally in love with this little guy; that much is clear. Thanks, guys, for letting me invade for a bit!

The America

Probably should have posted this on the fourth.  Oops!  On a recent trip to San Diego we were fortunate enough to take a ride ("Take a ride"?  Is that what you say?  Or is it something jaunty like "take the sea"?  Hmmm.) on a replica of The America, the boat that launched the America's Cup.  So beautiful...
